Why is this fellowship being offered?
The Cultural Arts fellowship Program is dedicated to creating pathways that lead to job opportunities, from dependency to financial independency through strong partnerships with local artist.
What is the intended impact of this fellowship program?
The Individual Artists Fellowship (IAF) program aims to acknowledge, support, and honor the excellence of High Desert artists and culture bearers across all art forms. The program provides unrestricted grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 to foster their continued artistic development and cultural contributions.
The Program
This initiative is designed to support artists and culture bearers at pivotal stages in their careers, enhancing their ability to contribute meaningfully to both their fields and our High Desert Community.
Fellowship grants will provide unrestricted funding to nurture individual artistic practices. The program aims to encompass a wide range of artist across various disciplines within the High Desert communities.
For this grant, excellence is characterized by an artist’s:
- Distinctive artistic vision
- Sustained dedication to their creative practice
- Interaction with and influence on the broader cultural landscape

Join Our Cultural Arts Family
The grant program supports artists at three career stages:
Stage 1
Emerging Artist Fellows – $5,000: These artists are in the early phases of publicly sharing their work and interacting with the broader community. They might have had limited public exhibitions but lack consistent resources or support.
Stage 2
Established Artist Fellows – $10,000: Artists at the Established tier consistently present their work to the public and actively engage with the wider community. They have numerous examples of artistic or cultural contributions that have achieved notable social impact.
Stage 3
Legacy Artist Fellows – $20,000: Artists in the Legacy tier have developed a substantial body of work over an extended period, actively engaging their communities and achieving significant social impact. They may also have mentored or positively influenced Emerging and Established Artists within their sphere.
